Just Six Evenings is a twisted and crunchy love-tale of Atul and Priya, who being in the corporate world, keep on climbing the stairs, but at a moment, something struck them ,something so strong and powerful, and magical, called love, that made them forget about everything.A story comprises of love, lust, professionalism, friendship and spirituality,a combination good enough to make your day.

As the blurb of the book goes:

What if the course of your life, and your love, is determined by just six evenings?

Atul Shukla, a young, successful executive, has been arrested by the Gurgaon police. As he attempts to find some comfort in the dark confines of his cell, Atul revisits his life and the six evenings that changed its course.

Eight years ago, while working in Bhopal, Atul had met the beautiful and intelligent Priya on a train, DDLJ style. When it turned out that she was in his city for only six days, he decided to woo her in that fleeting period of time. But fate had other plans in store, and Atul and Priya were torn apart by lust and betrayal, seemingly forever.

Years later, Atul and Priya meet once again for six days, while they are both navigating the murky underbelly of the modern corporate world. And this time it’s not just their love at stake, but their careers, and their future as well. Will Atul and Priya manage to give love a second chance? Or will corporate greed destroy their chance for a happy ending?

Just Six Evenings is a modern-day tale of love, lust and ambition in a corporate India that shines at the expense of the dreams it tramples under its feet

Nowadays, one could find a lot of romantic books available in the market, but the thing which missed out from them is  a staunchy story-line. Recently,I came across a book, with a nice and decent cover design  having a quite attentive title. After going through the blurb present at the back of the book, I couldn’t find something  alluring or I found it to be just another love-story, but something made me to read it and couldn’t restrain myself from going through it.

The story welcomes the reader with a good start making reader pondering the whole time as what had happened that make protagonist being in the condition. From there on, he keeps on narrating the riveting tale of his life, clutching reader’s hand all the time.Once, I started reading this book, I couldn’t stop but complete this book in a single sit.Let’s see what make this book so engaging.

Let’s talk about the story-line first.Author has tried to accommodate love, lust, friendship, professionalism and spiritualism under the same roof, well it’s not so easy to bind so many things in a 200 page-d book, but to my shock, author has done this job very-well without reader letting know if something has gone out of the track.Along with that, the plot is not so extra-ordinary, yet not so common, it would serve you something different, which is delicious enough for a single read and offering you a delightful reading journey.

Pointing towards the flow of the story,it is done faultlessly. Not at a single point I feel like skipping anything, except for few places where author has prolonged the description of corporate terms, otherwise the story rolls on smoothly taking readers along with it.One after the another, as the event switches, author tries to provide a smooth transition, in which he has succeeded.

Writing style is simple yet accentuating the story very-well.Even the novice readers would find it easy to go with.Articulation is fine, quite well complimenting the story. The thing I like most about the book is, one-liners amidst the story, witty, hilarious at time, an very-well depicting the exemplar’s character making it easy for readers to dwell in the story.

A mediocre story-line with something to teach you offering you a ride to a zig-zag tale.Recommended if you like to read a modern-day love story with some spice.Light-read!
