loveaptually

Blurb : Can real love ever blossom amidst a plethora of virtual chat apps and widgets? Can the mechanical swipes and eager clicks on the phone ever substitute the pleasures of a real-life chance encounter? For Aayushi, it all begins with an idle flickering message on her app’s inbox, from a guy named Ayaan. This leads to an affair where the two discover a deep attraction for each other. However, Aayushi ends the relationship rather abruptly.

Three years later, Aayushi unexpectedly bumps into Ayaan in her Singapore office. His changed behaviour perplexes her and she tries to find out if Ayaan had ever loved her the way she imagined love to be. She ends up uncovering revelations galore, and is finally led to a simple truth.

Will this change her romantic notions forever or reaffirm her faith in love?

My View :

The concept of the story can be easily grabbed from the art shown on the front jacket of the book-‘Online dating which results in connecting two souls‘.The flower of love once blossom, and then begins to wilt, history repeats itself, but this time ends in a favorable manner. Love Apptually,  is one such romantic tale that sails you on the soothing breeze of love, romance, jealousy, misunderstandings and reunion.

As the concept of online dating is quite common, and there are many books written on the same concept, what makes this book different from other is the way she has presented her thoughts before readers. The situations protagonist’s life comprises of, are simple and relatable in nature, and they are so common that anyone can easily tune in to the same frequency while protagonist whirls around during different phases of her life. This very ingredient increases reader’s involvement in the story. Also, the happenings roam around typical Bollywood movies,a film-bluff would find it interesting to encounter the way story sways.

What more qualities authoress’ possesses to make this book a good read, is her habit of not beating around the bush. Her words are so wisely chosen that one couldn’t find fillers roaming around the book.As she chooses to complete the journey in a clear-cut way, reader’s time devoted to this book is worth, as her words directed to insert into reader’s mind makes their way peacefully to their target.

The picture displayed in the beginning of each chapter , hints you about what all you are going to encounter in the next chapter, and to some extent , the pictures help to predict the upcoming series of events on the basis of the last events.Although they might be taken as spoiler, but I enjoyed taking a glance at them, whenever I hopped to start a new chapter.

Juxtaposing of events of her life to that of scenes from famous Hollywood and Bollywood movies, initially felt good and speaks of authoress’ love for romantic stories which drive her to pen one.The sudden appearance of the scenes extracted from movies doesn’t amuse me that much, as they were nothing more than a hitch to me in the smooth sailing of this journey.

A light romantic read told in a precise manner!
