‘Seeds of Success’ by Jack Myrick

Review by Shweta Kesari

‘Seeds of Success’ by Jack Myrick is a book which would take less from you and serves you more. A complete balanced story with lot more to learn.

The protagonist of the story Sam after losing his mother and sister falls into the pit of despair. He was living with his grandmother. His despaired life plunged into depression when the buisness had gotten very tough in Natchez. From his co-worker he got to know of being laid off from the job. This gave him a push in the pit of depression.

With the help of colonel uncle, who taught him the five seeds of success, he became the apple of his boss’s eyes by perfectly sowing those seeds of success in his life. The five seeds of success this book comprises of are-

  1. Excel first, reap later
  2. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
  3. Work with a sense of urgency.
  4. Be the solution, not the problem.
  5. Never say “It’s not my job.”

The examples quoted by the colonel were powerful and the way writer has potrayed each character in few words is more than appreciable. If everyone has someone like Sam’s colonel uncle in their life, no one would feel down and rise up easily even he/she has been once fall down in the pit of depression.

Seeds of Success

Beautiful tale of Sam presented in a very descent way. The essence of love added more charm to the story. A book worth to read and highly recommended.
Most beautiful lines from the book- Life is all about people, and people are the real joy in life. Things were created to be use and people were created to be loved. But all too often we love things and use people.
