Title : No Parking No Halt Success Non-Stop

Blurb :  A self-help book for success at work! No Parking. No Halt. Success Non-stop! has 50 career lessons for today’s 20teen generation.

Practical and comprehensive, the book often stretches to the point of ‘cunning without harming’. Interspersed with quotes, stories and humour, it also breaks a few myths. The author treads a fine line between ethical and non-ethical. The author is able to convince the reader about the necessity for professional success.

My View : It is a one year planned book for individual’s success. Lessons in this book are partitioned in twelve chapters, one for each month, and sub-sections are also provided in this book so that reader can take much needed time to implement the teachings. As for a non-reader this trick will work out very-well,but for a voracious reader, spending twelve months to complete a book is like heart-attack.But if someone really wishes to implement  each of the lessons taught in this book, he could walk step by step and achieve its motive by devoting a year to bring out the change.Ofcourse, bringing changes takes time and that’s why author has planned out a well-scheduled time-table for his readers.

The best lessons I discovered in author’s words are :

  • In all walks of life, assumptions are dangerous, Use your judgement instead.
  • When an employee truly understands the meaning of his work and gets recognition for his efforts he performs the best.
  • Selective Intentional Absence is a powerful tool for increasing your importance.
  • Over-engineering can create products too complex to use. Likewise, too much focus on  perfection can hinder progress. It is important to understand where to draw a line between progress and perfection.
  • Do not settle for less just because you can’t wait for the BEST!For success in life and at work it is important to be relaxed and have the ability to handle things wisely giving them the time and attention they deserve.

His way of approaching readers is very appreciative.Readers hate to go to uninvited details and that’s what this book is far away from.Author has tried to share his thoughts with readers as precisely as he can. What made the journey more comfortable is the simple writing fashion he has adopted. With so many thoughts in his mind to share with readers he uses appropriate and relatable examples to make his words strike the proper chord.

Some of the lessons really did the trick while some of them seemed futile to me.Some of the practices he states to learn doesn’t make an impactful impression on me.He tries his best to bring out the teachings in such a manner that reader could relate with them with the present working scenario. But to some extent, I was not able to comprehend and adopt all of the words.

Author in his book doesn’t ask to do something out-of-the-box.Very precisely and in a simple manner he demonstrates the changes one should bring to get gel with the working environment of corporate world. In self-help book what inspires readers at most is the stories which can revitalize the energy within individual. He has used very inspiring stories in the book, and what I call as the backbone of the book is the stories quoted as an example to understand author’s state of mind and his words in the proper direction.

Talking about the downfall of the book, some editing errors are there, but there participation is at very few places, so that doesn’t act as a major loophole in the journey.I was not convinced through some of his points.I have been  through self-help books before which helps to learn the way to survive in corporate world and from what I’ve learnt from them,my mind couldn’t relate with all of the points stated in this book.

A guide-book  which suggests to climb the corporate ladder in a precise manner!
