Review of Popular

popular

Author- Alissa Grosso

‘Popular’,a novel by Alissa Grosso is an interesting book and will blow your head with the twist it holds.First few pages depicts that it’s just an ordinary story but the blend of twist that occured in five girl’s life makes it special.

As the back cover says-‘ Meet the clique that rules Fidelity High: Olivia, Zelda, Nordica, and Shelly, each one handpicked by über-popular Hamilton Best. You know you’re “in” when you make the guest list for one of
Hamilton’s parties. And in the thralls of senior year, everyone wants to get noticed by Hamilton.

But Hamilton’s elite entourage is coming apart at the seams. Olivia fantasizes about finally
having a boyfriend, Zelda dreams of ditching high school, Nordica wants to be alone with her photography, and Shelly’s plotting to dethrone Hamilton. Lies and secrets are ripping away the careful ties that have kept them together for years. But Hamilton has the biggest secret of all,one that only her boyfriend Alex knows.

If the truth got out, it would shock everyone and destroy Hamilton’s fragile world—and she’ll do anything to protect her secret and keep her clique together.’

Plot is a bit different and that’s what made me to count it as an interesting book. Not going in depth,I would like to say-This story needs your concentration and it would be good if you could complete it in a single go.As there are six major characters in the story,if you leave this book in between and take it to read after a couple of days; confusion may create in remembering who is who and what is there role.Except that storyline is very good and one may enjoy it,if they like sudden twists and turns in the story.Writing style is good and narration is compact and the uprooted imagination of the author brings out a great change or profit to this story.

If you once got a hint about the twist you can’t stay away from this book.Once this sudden twist starts to flow, you can’t hold yourself to read it further. At the end, this book will leave you with an amazing feeling. In short,it’s for sure an entertaining reading journey.
