Blurb : School days. What do you remember when you think of these two words? That those were the best days of your life and the most magical.Isn’t that so?

The fay before Prabh is to reunite with his three closest friends from school for a a celebration, he recalls the years they spent together. However,an unexpected development seems to cast a shadow on the impending reunion and Prabh is forced to wonder-can time erode the bonds of friendship that were first made in boyhood?

This book talks about the most important relationship that teenage boys have- their friendship with other boys of their age, who know and understand what it is to fail, love, cry and grow up.

My View :

‘Strings of Friendship’ showcases those strings of friendship to readers which any individual could relate to, the friendship we lost in the run of fame and power, the friendship we lost in the race of becoming successful and rich. This is a story of Prabh, who misses his school friends so much that he reminisce the old days spent with them, even if they denied to meet him on an event he has organized.

The first half of the story doesn’t stand up to my expectations.Unnecessary and irrelevant details are scattered all over the place which doesn’t contribute to take ahead the story in any manner. There are description and narration of such events which reader doesn’t want to encounter in the journey. In a chapter, protagonist and his friends went to watch Step up2 movie, and he wasted a paragraph in narrating the story of the movie. How on the earth reader would like to hear out a story of a movie in a book unless and until it has a relation with the story.

He also discussed about different games one can play with marbles. Now do tell me readers, can you pick up a story book to know different games played with marbles? This is just a few examples I thought to bring before you, there are many such contents that participated in the story which acts nothing more than filler.

Words are so precious, and it should be chosen very wisely. As this being a book of 180 pages,I  thought I could cover the journey easily,as author would have done the narration precisely. But he instead of doing that, talks about all the natural events which doesn’t entice readers a bit.Only when comes to relate with the events, it was way easy to do because of the simplicity he maintained throughout the story.

Even this bunch of friends seem unreal to me.Their conversation mostly roam around how author wants to picture them in their future life. The fun that bunch of young guys have is missing from the story which snatches the moments of fun and excitement from the story as one expected from it.Although he tries to capture the moments in a lively fashion, but then linking of episodes in a proper manner is missing. He so hurriedly switches events without even giving an end to it, hanging the episode in the mid air.

Chapter 8 demonstrates an adventurous event which could make you go high, but as the event is too common and the consequences were known in advance,it wasn’t that good to excite readers at its best. From there on,story gives something to read to readers. There are events which has something to contribute to the story and this fuel is sufficient enough to take the readers to the end of the story.

You could only found yourselves engaged in the second half. The story as in whole is simple in nature and that’s why any one could easily relate to it .To make the process more easy, author has used a very simple writing style to quote his words, which a novice reader would find a great advantage  as it provides them a soothing journey.

A light read which could make you reminisce your school days, your school friends and about life that has taken a turn.I found  lack of maturity as a writer in the book, but I’m sure,as author has taken one step in this world, with his practice and skills he will surely come up with a better book in the future ahead.

A book that lets you sit on the couch of friendship!
