Review of SOAR

Title : S.O.A.R : Success Over Adversity Reigns

Author : Abir Mukherjee

Cover of S.O.A.R

The first look at the book and it gives faded impression, the cover design could be done in a more artistic way, so that it could caught reader’s attention at first look, along with that the title, according to the story could be changed and can be chosen something which readers find more alluring .Though, both the title and the cover, to some extent hints about the story, story of three guys and involvement of success in their life.Coming towards the blurb of the book,in  a very candid way it talks about the plot through which reader can easily guess whether this is the journey he/she wish to go through or not.

As the blurb of the book goes:

“Frustrated with their current jobs, Uday, Adhyayan, and Rajasekaran team up to start an innovative business, non-existent in India until then. Ignoring all pragmatic aspects of life, they chase their dreams with immense pleasure. However, their journey is no cakewalk, as they confront financial crisis and rejections soon. Uday plays a business trick to triumph over that uninfluenced market; it works initially, but soon boomerangs, blowing the team apart. The police arrests Uday accusing him of illegal activity by his organization.

Were there any blemishes in their plan or was it just a typical Indian market, reluctant to accept an un-experimented concept? Will they be successful in implementing their innovation, staking their hard earned money, stable jobs, relationships, and life?

‘S.O.A.R is the story of chasing a dream, quandary between desire and responsibility, friendship and love.

Join the gutsy journey of three young entrepreneurs.”

Storyline is good enough to spend your time on it plus author has maintained decency in the narration of the story.Unlike his previous book, which just revolved around love, this book serves something different, it talks about value of relationship, prioritizing success and fame over relationship, and eventually how it turns into a good-end.Although, there is nothing so much to discover in the book, but it still holds the charm to catch reader’s attention.

Talking about the writing style author has adopted, a mediocre writing fashion is used, much easy to go with. The story travels on the track, describing needed details and avoiding superfluous information.Characterization done in a good way, conversations are fine and articulation is mediocre in nature. As there is always scope of improvement in work,I leave on the rest of the things for his next work.Hope to have a more interesting and engaging reading journey next time.

A tale about friendship,fame,success and risk.One-time read!
