Blurb : Love is elixir that keeps you alive. Love is poison that kills you. Unreciprocated love keeps you alive but kills every day. Heartbroken Sunny lives a reclusive life, trapped in the past, living in his memories. He has no complaints about his life but refuses to embrace the present. Saloni is a prostitute who is desperate to earn money by any means. She does not care about exploiting others to fulfill her purpose. Fate unites the loner and the prostitute to embark on a life changing journey of retribution and self-discovery.

Lovelorn Sunny turns misogynistic after Sandy, the only girl he loved walks away from his life, unannounced. He suffers painful solitude for almost two decades with the relentless haunting of her thoughts. A distressed friend Imran, vows to change his life forever. A surprise planned for his birthday turns into a tragedy that claims the life of his dear friend, triggering a series of unbelievable events. As Imran gets killed by a stranger, Sunny’s calm life suddenly turns into a turbulent storm. With nothing left to live for, vengeance becomes his ultimate mission. His reluctant alliance with a prostitute to trace the killer sets him onto a nerve racking adventure of life and death.

Both are bound to a common goal with different motives but destiny has its own motive. A walk in the rain is an intricate tale of intense emotions, driven by hair raising twists and turns.

My view : The title of the book doesn’t propounds that much about the story however the subtitle openly suggests what the story is about. The cover of the book is just the imaging of the title which looks alluring showing a couple walking in the rain holding each other’s hand. The blurb of the book gives the blur hint about the story and it will prod the reader to initiate the book read so as to clear the be-fogginess of the blurb.
The story begins with acknowledging the protagonist’s character named Sunny and his behavior against the things he holds in his life. His behavior goes on changing when a girl named Sandy becomes his friend. He was enjoying her presence in his life but one day she left without any notice.

Sunny was still trapped in his past love memories and was living a dull life. His friend Imran doesn’t wants him to live his life that way. He planned a surprise for him on his birthday. Later on story takes twist when Imran was killed. Sunny decides to take the revenge of his friend’s death. He then took help of a prostitute named Saloni. Although they hate each other still they feels something between them.

Love stories are common but this story is somewhat different from other stories and the plot of the book makes me glued to the story with the feeling of what will be held next. The sad parts of prostitute’s life are very well portrayed by the author filling the reader’s mind with lenience and mournful emotions. All the characters in the book are captivating and author had very well sketched their demeanor and the episodes which are played in their life.

The story is submerged with so many twists and turns. The chapters in the book are unrelated and every chapter lands the reader with showing different condition which is intriguing. Narrating the story in this manner is not common and I like the way author has done the job but it makes the flow of the story unsmooth which may be turbulent for a novice reader. The writing style of the book is simple making it easily understandable in terms of language and sentences.

Altogether, a wondrous story having hues of love, friendship and drama.
