Title : Pluck Out the Heart

“Pluck Out the Heart: an anthology of Horror Stories”, comprises of short stories weaved by fine authors who possess good imagination skills and charismatic writing fashion. Each writer serves you 2-4 stories, independent from others, short and crisp in nature. All the authors have maturity in their writing style, an art to present their thoughts beautifully and vividly so that readers can feel comfortable while going through them.

When comes to horror stories, readers expectations from the book grow higher. Let’s see how well this book worked for me:

Sagher Manchanda
From his writings, I can easily connote that he is an ardent reader of international books. His stories and the way he has narrated them very-well reflects that. His stories are different in nature, different from the others present in this book, feeding reader’s mind a wonderful taste, flavoured with the hues he has festooned his stories with. His writing style is accentuated and beautifully curved. There is reader’s inquisitiveness attached to his stories, which make reader unleash the suspense by reading them to the end.

Nikhil Katkar
Nikhil’s stories have a touch of wit in it. Storylines are good and serves what the title and subtitle says. He maintains the flow of the story and uses a simple writing style which any reader can found easy to go with.

Nalini Shrivastava
I was prepared to get goose bumps after having a look at the cover and the title. The subtitle very boldly says, an anthology of horror stories. I was afraid to find out that some stories in the book doesn’t even revolve around the word, ‘horror’ although the stories have spirit ,but they lack in the content as what the subtitle is demanding. The narration involves more about the character and other storyline but forgets to involve ‘fear’ and ‘horror’ which is what reader is expecting to have.

Neelam Chandra Saxena
The best thing I found about her stories is, her way of narration. I very much like the way she presents thoughts, emotions and feelings of protagonist. Again the fear factor is missing, but her stories serve something which readers would like to have. She has attached emotions very well in the story.

Shail Raghuvanshi
I felt the style of narrating and the flow of events is somewhat not fluent as I couldn’t feel connected to the stories. Although the storylines are nice, but somehow lacks the elixir as to make the readers completely hooked to it.Once again, the fear factor is missing in the stories.

A nice book, if you like to read the stories of spirit. One time read!
